Turn coordinator and inclinometer
The airplane symbol shows rate of roll and rate of turn. The ball shows whether the turn is coordinated.

Key points
- Standard-rate turn = 3° per second, so a full 360° takes 2 minutes. That's when the wingtip lines up with the L or R mark.
- Bank for standard rate ≈ (airspeed in knots ÷ 10) + 7. At 100 knots, that's about 17°. This demo uses 100 knots.
- Slip: ball to the inside of the turn, not enough rudder for the bank. Skid: ball to the outside, too much rudder.
- Step on the ball: press the rudder on the side the ball is on.
- The turn coordinator uses a canted gyro and precession, so it senses roll as well as yaw. It gives no pitch information.
